Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Combine the chopped chocolate and cubed butter in a microwave-safe glass bowl. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring in between, until the mixture is glossy and completely smooth.
- Whisk the granulated sugar into the melted chocolate mixture until fully incorporated.
- Add the eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition until the batter looks shiny and smooth.
- Sift in the cocoa powder and stir with a rubber spatula until no dry streaks remain.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center has a slight wobble.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before flipping it onto a plate.
