Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp aluminum-free baking powder
- 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
- 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
- 0.5 tsp kosher salt
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely minced
Instructions:
- Dry the wings. Use paper towels to strip every drop of moisture from the chicken.
- Dust with powder. Toss the wings with the baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
- Apply the oil. Drizzle the avocado oil over the wings and toss again.
- Mix the rub. In a small container, combine the parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and pepper.
- Coat the wings. Sprinkle the parmesan mixture over the wings, tossing until they are fully shielded in a sandy coating.
- Arrange the basket. Place the wings in the air fryer in a single layer. Leave space between each piece for air circulation.
- Initiate cooking. Set your air fryer to 200°C and cook for 10 minutes until you hear a vigorous sizzling sound.
- Perform the flip. Carefully turn each wing over using tongs.
- Final blast. Cook for another 10 minutes until the crust is golden brown and bubbling.
- Garnish and rest. Transfer to a rack, sprinkle with parsley, and let them rest for 3 minutes until the crust sets into a firm shell.
