Ingredients:

  • 2 (8-ounce) Sirloin steaks, approximately 1-inch thick
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp coarse sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

Instructions:

  1. Remove the sirloin steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to temper. Pat completely dry with paper towels to ensure a crispy crust.
  2. In a small bowl, combine sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then apply the seasoning rub generously, pressing it into the meat.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes. Place seasoned steaks in the basket, ensuring they do not touch to allow for maximum airflow.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes, then use silicone-tipped tongs to flip the steaks. Cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes depending on your preferred level of doneness.
  5. Check for an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare. Transfer steaks to a warm wooden board, do not tent loosely with foil, and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
