Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Thai tea mix (ChaTraMue or Pantai brand)
- 2 cups filtered water
- 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tbsp evaporated milk
- 2 cups large ice cubes
Instructions:
- Bring 2 cups of filtered water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle, then remove from heat. Immediately add the Thai tea mix, stir once to submerge the leaves, and cover with a lid. Steep for exactly 5 minutes.
- Strain the hot tea through a fine-mesh strainer or cloth tea sock into a heat-proof pitcher. Immediately whisk in the granulated sugar and sweetened condensed milk until fully dissolved and emulsified.
- Fill two tall glasses to the brim with large ice cubes. Pour the sweetened tea over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top. Gently pour 1 tablespoon of evaporated milk over each glass to create the signature ombre effect.
