Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup corn syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.
- Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add egg yolk and cold water; mix until dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to fit the pie dish.
- Transfer and press into the pie dish; chill in the refrigerator.
- In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Fold in chopped pecans.
- Pour the filling into the prepared crust, evenly distributing pecans.
- Place the pie on a baking sheet (to catch drips).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed.
- Allow the pie to cool at room temperature for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
