Ingredients:
- 150 g blue masa harina
- Pinch of salt
- 300 ml lukewarm water
Instructions:
- Place masa harina in a large mixing bowl; add salt and stir to combine.
- Gradually add lukewarm water, mixing after each addition until a firm dough forms that just comes together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until elastic.
- Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces (~30g each), cover with a clean towel to prevent drying.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat for 1 minute.
- Press out each dough ball into a 12cm (5-inch) tortilla using a tortilla press or heavy oven dish, between lightly greased plastic sheets.
- Carefully peel off the plastic and place the tortilla in the hot pan. Cook for 15 seconds, flip, and continue for 15 seconds on the other side.
- Repeat with remaining dough, keeping finished tortillas warm in a covered dish or between towels.
