Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup (57g) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 3/4 cup (177ml) buttermilk, cold
  • 1 cup (113g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cut cold butter into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gently stir in buttermilk and cheddar cheese until just combined. Do not overmix!
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. While biscuits are baking, melt butter in a small bowl. Stir in garlic powder, parsley, and salt.
  7. As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush generously with garlic butter. Serve warm.
