Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- In a bowl, mix together mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle (about ¼ inch thick).
- Cut the rectangle into strips and place a tablespoon of cheese filling on one end of each strip. Roll up tightly.
- Place the stuffed breadsticks on a lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 15 minutes.
- Brush the tops with melted butter. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cheesy.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
