Ingredients:
- 1 lb rotini or penne pasta
- 1 tbsp salt
- 16 oz imitation crab, chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp melted butter
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook for 2 minutes less than the package directions for al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Lower the heat and stir in softened cream cheese and sour cream, whisking until smooth.
- Gradually pour in the milk and stir in Old Bay seasoning and black pepper until the sauce is incorporated and simmering gently.
- Combine the cooked pasta and chopped imitation crab into the sauce, folding until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese.
- Mix panko breadcrumbs with 1 tablespoon of melted butter and sprinkle evenly over the cheese.
- Bake at the required temperature (typically 350-375°F) for approximately 20-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
