Ingredients:

  • 1 lb rotini or penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 16 oz imitation crab, chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook for 2 minutes less than the package directions for al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Lower the heat and stir in softened cream cheese and sour cream, whisking until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour in the milk and stir in Old Bay seasoning and black pepper until the sauce is incorporated and simmering gently.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta and chopped imitation crab into the sauce, folding until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese.
  7. Mix panko breadcrumbs with 1 tablespoon of melted butter and sprinkle evenly over the cheese.
  8. Bake at the required temperature (typically 350-375°F) for approximately 20-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
