Ingredients:
- 2 (21 ounce / 595g) cans cherry pie filling
- 1 (15.25 ounce / 432g) box yellow cake mix (do not prepare)
- ¾ cup (1 ½ sticks / 170g) unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts), for topping (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour cherry pie filling evenly into the baking dish.
- Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the cherry filling.
- Pour melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Aim for even coverage.
- (Optional) Sprinkle chopped nuts over the top.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
