Ingredients:
- 45 Saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp festive holiday sprinkles
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 10x15 inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange crackers in a single, tight layer covering the bottom.
- In a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until melted and the mixture reaches a full rolling boil.
- Once boiling, stop stirring and boil for exactly 3 minutes. Remove from heat and immediately stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
- Pour the hot toffee mixture over the crackers and spread evenly with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 3 minutes to melt, then spread the chocolate into an even layer using an offset spatula.
- Top with chopped pecans and festive sprinkles. Allow to cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before breaking into pieces.
