Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs ripe heirloom tomatoes
- 8 oz fresh buffalo mozzarella
- 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp flaky sea salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions:
- Slice the heirloom tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella into uniform rounds approximately 1/4 inch thick. Pat the mozzarella dry with a paper towel to remove excess brine.
- On a wide serving platter, arrange the slices in an overlapping shingle pattern, alternating one slice of tomato, one slice of mozzarella, and one whole basil leaf.
- Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar evenly over the top of the arrangement.
- Sprinkle the flaky sea salt and cracked black pepper over the entire salad, ensuring salt hits the tomatoes directly.
