Ingredients:
- 2 cups (480 ml) strong, hot brewed coffee (preferably Irish coffee blend)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Irish whiskey (such as Jameson)
- 2 teaspoons (10 g) brown sugar (or more to taste)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream (not whipped)
- Freshly grated nutmeg (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Brew the coffee until it's strong and aromatic.
- In each glass, combine 1 tablespoon of brown sugar with 1 ounce (30 ml) of Irish whiskey.
- Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of hot coffee into each glass, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
- In a separate bowl, gently whisk the heavy cream until it's just thickened but still pourable.
- Carefully pour the cream over the back of a spoon to float it atop the coffee mixture.
- Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg, if desired. Serve immediately.
