Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) baking powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) baking soda
- 6 tablespoons (85 g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk, cold
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda until well combined.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or two forks to cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the cold buttermilk and stir gently until the dough just comes together without overmixing.
- Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and slightly firm to the touch.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving warm.
