Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) Brussel sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil, plus more for frying
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) black pepper
- 1/4 cup (60ml) balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/4 cup (30g) pecan halves, toasted and roughly chopped
Instructions:
- Trim the ends of the Brussel sprouts and remove any loose outer leaves. Halve them lengthwise.
- Toss the halved Brussel sprouts with 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Heat about 1/2 inch (1.25cm) of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering (around 350°F/175°C).
- Carefully add the Brussel sprouts to the hot oil in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and tender-crisp. These fried brussel sprouts are going to be amazing!
- Use a slotted spoon or spider to remove the fried Brussel sprouts from the skillet and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Transfer the drained Brussel sprouts to a serving bowl. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and sprinkle with toasted pecans. Serve immediately.
