Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
  • Fresh lemon zest and juice, optional for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Rinse the green beans thoroughly under cold water, then trim the ends.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the green beans with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the green beans in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, tossing halfway through, until the beans are tender and charred to your preference.
  6. Remove from oven, add optional lemon zest and juice, then serve warm.
