Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) ground chicken or turkey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (30ml)
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (15ml)
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (15ml)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (5ml)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 1 cup (150g) water chestnuts, chopped
- 1 cup (150g) carrots, grated
- 1 cup (50g) green onions, sliced
- 1 head of butter or iceberg lettuce (about 12 leaves)
- Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the ingredients: Rinse and dry the lettuce leaves. Set aside. Chop the onion, garlic, ginger, water chestnuts, and carrots. Slice the green onions.
- Cook the filling: Heat the skillet over medium heat. Add ground chicken or turkey; cook until browned. Stir in the onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant. Add chopped water chestnuts, carrots, soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Assemble the wraps: Place a generous spoonful of filling into each lettuce leaf. Top with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of cilantro.
- Serve: Squeeze lime juice over the wraps and serve immediately.
