Ingredients:
- 1 (16 ounce/450g) can refried beans
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (or to taste)
- 3 ripe avocados, pitted and mashed
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 (16 ounce/450g) container sour cream
- 1 packet (1 ounce/30g) taco seasoning mix
- 1 (16 ounce/450g) jar salsa (your favourite heat level)
- 2 cups (approximately 8 ounces/225g) shredded cheddar cheese, or a Mexican blend
- 1 (2.25 ounce/65g) can sliced black olives, drained
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions:
- Heat refried beans in a small pan or microwave. Mix with chili powder.
- In a bowl, mash the avocados. Add red onion, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and cumin. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine sour cream and taco seasoning mix. Stir until well combined.
- Layer the ingredients in the following order in your serving dish: refried beans, guacamole, sour cream mixture, salsa, cheese, olives, and green onions.
- Cover the dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.
