Ingredients:

  • 1 Large Russet Potato (8-10 oz / 225-285g)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil
  • Kosher Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C / Gas Mark 6).
  2. Scrub potatoes clean under cold water. Dry thoroughly.
  3. Using a fork or knife, prick each potato all over, including the top, bottom and sides. Prick several times.
  4. Rub each potato with olive oil or vegetable oil. Season generously with kosher salt and black pepper. Ensure even coverage.
  5. Place potatoes directly on the baking sheet. Bake for 45-75 minutes, depending on size.
  6. The potatoes are done when a fork or knife easily pierces the center with little resistance. Internal temperature should reach 210°F (99°C).
  7. Carefully remove from the oven. Cut open the top and fluff the inside with a fork. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
