Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (preferably smoky flavor)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust based on heat preference)
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs / 680 g)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a zip-top bag or airtight container. Pour marinade over chicken, seal, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours for more flavor).
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean and oiled to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Discard marinade. Grill chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Let chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
