Ingredients:
- 4 cups (946 ml) water
- 4 tablespoons (approx. 24g) loose leaf black tea (Ceylon, English Breakfast, or a blend)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) evaporated milk
- 2-4 tablespoons (30-60 ml) sweetened condensed milk, or to taste
Instructions:
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add loose leaf tea. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let steep for 5 more minutes. Strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve or tea sock into a heat-resistant pitcher, discarding the tea leaves.
- Pour the brewed tea back into the saucepan, then back into the pitcher multiple times (4-5 times). This aerates the tea and contributes to a smoother texture.
- Stir in the evaporated milk.
- Add sweetened condensed milk to taste. Start with 2 tablespoons and adjust.
- Pour into mugs and serve hot.
