Ingredients:

  • 1 lb imitation crab meat, shredded
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup celery, minced
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Shred the imitation crab using a box grater or by pulsing briefly in a food processor until it reaches a coarse shred consistency.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Stir in the mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  4. Fold the shredded crab, diced onion, and minced celery into the cream cheese mixture until it forms a thick, cohesive paste with no white streaks remaining.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Top the casserole with a layer of shredded Swiss and Mozzarella cheese, then brush the top with 1 tablespoon of melted butter.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the cheese topping is mahogany-colored.
