Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice OR 1 tablespoon (15ml) white vinegar
Instructions:
- Pour 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or white vinegar into a liquid measuring cup or glass.
- Pour 1 cup of milk into the same measuring cup/glass, on top of the lemon juice/vinegar.
- Gently stir the milk and lemon juice/vinegar mixture until combined.
- Let the mixture sit at room temperature for 5 minutes. You’ll notice the milk beginning to thicken and curdle slightly. (It should look like small lumps forming). This is how to make buttermilk from milk.
- Use immediately in your recipe.
