Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs (680g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended for flavor)
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp (5ml) smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp (5ml) garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) black pepper
  • 6 oz (170g) cheddar cheese, cut into 12 small cubes (about 1/2 inch/1.25cm)
  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or brioche sliders work best)
  • 2 tbsp (30g) unsalted butter, melted
  • Pickles, thinly sliced (optional)
  • Sliced red onion (optional)
  • Ketchup (optional)
  • Mustard (optional)
  • Lettuce (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to overmix.
  2. Divide the beef mixture into 24 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball. Flatten 12 of the balls slightly, then press a cube of cheddar cheese into the center of each. Top with another flattened beef ball, sealing the edges very carefully to enclose the cheese completely.
  3. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Brush the cut sides with melted butter.
  4. Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sliders for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  5. Place the buttered slider buns on the griddle for 30 seconds per side, or until lightly toasted. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  6. Place a cooked slider patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add your desired toppings. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
