Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs (680g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended for flavor)
- 1 tbsp (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp (5ml) smoked paprika
- 1 tsp (5ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) onion powder
- 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) black pepper
- 6 oz (170g) cheddar cheese, cut into 12 small cubes (about 1/2 inch/1.25cm)
- 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or brioche sliders work best)
- 2 tbsp (30g) unsalted butter, melted
- Pickles, thinly sliced (optional)
- Sliced red onion (optional)
- Ketchup (optional)
- Mustard (optional)
- Lettuce (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to overmix.
- Divide the beef mixture into 24 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball. Flatten 12 of the balls slightly, then press a cube of cheddar cheese into the center of each. Top with another flattened beef ball, sealing the edges very carefully to enclose the cheese completely.
- Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Brush the cut sides with melted butter.
- Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sliders for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- Place the buttered slider buns on the griddle for 30 seconds per side, or until lightly toasted. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Place a cooked slider patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add your desired toppings. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
