Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- 1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced into ½-inch rounds (450g)
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped (approx. 1 cup) (approx. 150g)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium head of green cabbage, cored and shredded (approx. 6 cups) (approx. 700g)
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (5 ml)
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (2.5 ml)
- ½ cup chicken broth (120 ml)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (15 ml)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced kielbasa and cook until browned on both sides. Remove kielbasa from the skillet and set aside.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened and translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add shredded cabbage, caraway seeds, and smoked paprika to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour in chicken broth and apple cider vinegar. Stir well to combine. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat, cover, and cook until cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Return kielbasa to the skillet. Stir well and cook until heated through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley (if using) and serve hot.
