Ingredients:

  • 1 lemon, halved
  • Coarse salt (such as kosher or sea salt), about 1/4 cup (60 ml)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the lemon in half lengthwise.
  2. Sprinkle a generous amount of salt onto the cut side of one lemon half.
  3. Using the salted lemon half, firmly scrub the tarnished copper surface in a circular motion. Apply more pressure to heavily tarnished areas.
  4. Rinse the pot thoroughly with warm water.
  5. Dry the pot immediately with a clean, soft cloth. This helps prevent water spots and further tarnishing.
  6. For stubborn tarnish, repeat steps 2-5, using the other lemon half and fresh salt if needed.
