Ingredients:
- 1 lb Cremini or White Button Mushrooms, sliced 1/4 inch thick
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Fresh Thyme, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
- 1/4 tsp Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Fresh Italian Parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp paper towel. Slice them into uniform 1/4-inch pieces.
- Place a large stainless steel or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms in a single layer without oil or salt. Cook undisturbed for 3–5 minutes until moisture evaporates and browning begins.
- Add the olive oil to the pan. Stir occasionally for another 5 minutes until mushrooms are deeply caramelized.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add the butter, minced garlic, and fresh thyme. Sauté for 2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the butter is foamy.
- Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the sea salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
