Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Cremini or White Button Mushrooms, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Fresh Thyme, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Italian Parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp paper towel. Slice them into uniform 1/4-inch pieces.
  2. Place a large stainless steel or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms in a single layer without oil or salt. Cook undisturbed for 3–5 minutes until moisture evaporates and browning begins.
  3. Add the olive oil to the pan. Stir occasionally for another 5 minutes until mushrooms are deeply caramelized.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add the butter, minced garlic, and fresh thyme. Sauté for 2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the butter is foamy.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the sea salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
