Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups (600 ml) rolled oats (old-fashioned, not instant)
  • 5 cups (1.2 L) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 ½ tablespoons (37.5 ml) chia seeds (optional)
  • 2 ½ tablespoons (37.5 ml) maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) peanut butter
  • ½ medium banana, sliced
  • ½ cup (120 ml) mixed berries
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) shredded coconut
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) chocolate chips (optional)
  • ½ small apple, diced
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) chopped pineapple
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) shredded coconut
  • lime zest from ¼ lime

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, milk, chia seeds (if using), maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk well.
  2. Divide the oat mixture evenly among the 5 individual containers or jars.
  3. Add the ingredients for each flavor variation to one of the containers, gently stirring to combine.
  4. Seal the containers tightly and refrigerate for at least 6-8 hours, or overnight.
  5. In the morning, give each container a stir and enjoy cold. Top with additional fruit, nuts, or a drizzle of honey.
