Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp (5 g) sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp (2 g) black pepper, freshly ground
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp (1 g) garlic powder or 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp (1 g) red pepper flakes
  • Optional: Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Trim the ends of the green beans and rinse them under cold water.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine green beans with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any additional optional seasonings.
  4. Spread the seasoned green beans in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, tossing halfway through, until crisp-tender and slightly browned.
  6. Remove from the oven, add optional lemon zest if desired, and serve immediately.
