Ingredients:

  • 1 cup jasmine rice (185g)
  • 1 1/2 cups water (350 ml)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice: Place jasmine rice in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a medium saucepan, add the rinsed rice, 1 1/2 cups of water, and a pinch of salt (if using).
  3. Bring to a boil: Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and stir occasionally until water begins to boil.
  4. Simmer: Once boiling, reduce heat to low and cover the saucepan. Simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  5. Fluff the rice: After 15 minutes, remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 more minutes. Uncover and fluff rice gently with a fork.
