Ingredients:
- 1 lb cooked chicken breast, shredded or cubed
- 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup full fat sour cream
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1.5 sleeves Ritz crackers, hand crushed
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Note: A fully calibrated oven ensures the crackers don't burn before the center is hot.
- In a large bowl, whisk the 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup, 1 cup sour cream, 0.5 tsp garlic powder, 0.5 tsp onion powder, and 0.25 tsp black pepper.
- Add the 1 lb cooked chicken and 1.5 tbsp poppy seeds into the mixture. Stir until the chicken is fully coated and velvety.
- Spread the chicken mixture evenly into your 9x13 inch dish.
- Hand crush 1.5 sleeves of Ritz style crackers into a separate bowl. Keep pieces about the size of a dime.
- Combine the 0.5 cup melted butter with the remaining 0.5 tbsp poppy seeds.
- Pour the butter over the crackers and toss gently. Note: You want the crackers to be coated but not soggy.
- Sprinkle the buttery crackers over the chicken base in an even layer.
- Place in the oven for 30 mins until the edges are bubbling and the top is golden brown and shattering.
