Ingredients:
- 4 medium cucumbers, thinly sliced (approx. 1 lb / 450 g)
- 1 teaspoon salt (5 g)
- ½ cup sour cream (120 ml)
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar (30 ml)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (12 g)
- ¼ cup fresh dill, finely chopped (60 ml)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper (1 g)
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Additional fresh dill sprigs (optional)
Instructions:
- Wash cucumbers under cold water.
- Thinly slice cucumbers using a knife or mandoline.
- Place cucumber slices in a colander and sprinkle with salt. Let drain for 10 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together sour cream, vinegar, sugar, dill, and black pepper until smooth.
- Gently pat cucumbers dry with a paper towel.
- Add drained cucumbers to the dressing, stirring gently to combine.
- Cover the salad with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Before serving, taste for seasoning and adjust if necessary. Garnish with extra dill or red pepper flakes if desired.
