Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup (240ml) Water
- 1 cup (240ml) Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice (from about 6-8 lemons)
- 4 cups (960ml) Cold Water, plus more to taste
- 1-2 teaspoons Rosewater (start with 1 tsp and add more to taste)
- Edible Rose Petals (optional)
- Lemon Slices (optional)
- Fresh Mint Sprigs (optional)
- Ice
Instructions:
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat and let cool completely.
- In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and 4 cups of cold water.
- Stir in the rosewater, starting with 1 teaspoon. Taste and add more if desired, but be careful not to overdo it – a little goes a long way!
- Gradually add the cooled simple syrup to the lemonade base, tasting as you go, until you reach your desired level of sweetness. You may not need all the syrup.
- Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve over ice, garnished with edible rose petals, lemon slices, and/or mint sprigs, if desired.
