Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) Water
  • 1 cup (240ml) Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice (from about 6-8 lemons)
  • 4 cups (960ml) Cold Water, plus more to taste
  • 1-2 teaspoons Rosewater (start with 1 tsp and add more to taste)
  • Edible Rose Petals (optional)
  • Lemon Slices (optional)
  • Fresh Mint Sprigs (optional)
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat and let cool completely.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and 4 cups of cold water.
  3. Stir in the rosewater, starting with 1 teaspoon. Taste and add more if desired, but be careful not to overdo it – a little goes a long way!
  4. Gradually add the cooled simple syrup to the lemonade base, tasting as you go, until you reach your desired level of sweetness. You may not need all the syrup.
  5. Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve over ice, garnished with edible rose petals, lemon slices, and/or mint sprigs, if desired.
