Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) turkey breast, sliced into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) olive oil
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) chili powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) paprika
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) salt
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) black pepper
- 1 tablespoon (15 mL) lime juice
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Tortillas, for serving (flour or corn)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and lime juice.
- Add turkey strips to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Let sit for at least 10 minutes.
- Slice the onion and bell peppers into thin strips.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated turkey strips in a single layer. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 74°C). Remove turkey from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed. Add sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp and slightly caramelized.
- Return the turkey to the skillet with the veggies. Stir well to combine and heat through. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
