Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Chop the cabbage, slice the onion, and chop the bacon.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  3. Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage and sauté for 5-7 minutes until it begins to wilt.
  5. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and the cooked bacon. Cook for another 5-8 minutes until the cabbage is tender and flavors meld.
  6. Drizzle the apple cider vinegar over the mixture, stir, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat, and serve warm!
