Ingredients:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) Mezcal (Espadín recommended)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice (about 1 large lime)
  • ¾ oz (22 ml) Cointreau or other orange liqueur
  • ½ oz (15 ml) Agave Nectar (light or amber)
  • Lime wedge, for garnish
  • Optional: Salt or chili-lime salt for rimming

Instructions:

  1. If using salt or chili-lime salt, rim the glass by running a lime wedge around the edge and dipping it into the salt.
  2. Add mezcal, lime juice, Cointreau, and agave nectar to a cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice.
  4. Shake well for 15-20 seconds, until the shaker is very cold.
  5. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice (or without ice if you prefer a coupe).
  6. Garnish with a lime wedge. Enjoy your mezcal margarita!
