Ingredients:
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 4 oz (113g) sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 oz (113g) aged white cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 oz (56g) Old Bay seasoned crab meat, drained
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined to create a spread.
- Lay out two slices of sourdough bread and spread the butter mixture on one side of each slice.
- Sprinkle half of the grated sharp cheddar and half of the aged white cheddar over the unbuttered side of one slice.
- Distribute the crab meat over the cheese, then top with the remaining cheese and cover with the second slice of bread, buttered side out.
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, let sit for a minute before slicing, and serve warm.
