Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) canned apple pie filling, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (30g) rolled oats (not instant)
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave-safe mug or ramekin, combine the apple pie filling, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice (if using). Mix gently.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the oats, flour, and brown sugar.
  3. Add the cold butter cubes to the oat mixture. Use a fork or pastry blender to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling in the mug or ramekin.
  5. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, or until the apple filling is bubbly and the crumble topping is slightly softened. Start checking at 2 minutes to avoid overcooking.
  6. Let the crumble cool for a minute or two before serving.
