Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) canned apple pie filling, roughly chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
- 1/4 cup (30g) rolled oats (not instant)
- 2 tablespoons (30g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons (30g) packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
Instructions:
- In a microwave-safe mug or ramekin, combine the apple pie filling, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice (if using). Mix gently.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the oats, flour, and brown sugar.
- Add the cold butter cubes to the oat mixture. Use a fork or pastry blender to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling in the mug or ramekin.
- Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, or until the apple filling is bubbly and the crumble topping is slightly softened. Start checking at 2 minutes to avoid overcooking.
- Let the crumble cool for a minute or two before serving.
