Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons (21g) all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons (60g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 3 tablespoons (42g) vegetable oil (or melted unsalted butter)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract to the mug.
  3. Stir until all ingredients are well combined and the batter is smooth.
  4. Gently fold in chocolate chips, if using.
  5. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes. Start with 1 minute and check for doneness.
  6. Let cool for a minute or two before serving.
