Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (100g) popcorn kernels (yellow or white)
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) vegetable oil (or canola, coconut oil)
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon (3g) salt (sea salt preferred)

Instructions:

  1. Combine oil, sugar, and popcorn kernels in the large pot.
  2. Place the pot over medium-high heat. Cover tightly with the lid.
  3. As the popcorn starts to pop, shake the pot frequently to prevent burning.
  4. Once the popping slows down to a few seconds between pops, remove from heat.
  5. Carefully remove the lid (watch out for steam!). Sprinkle the salt evenly over the popcorn and stir gently.
  6. Transfer the kettle corn to a large bowl to cool slightly before serving.
