Ingredients:

  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 6 bags standard black tea
  • 0.125 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 5 cups filtered water

Instructions:

  1. Bring 3 cups of filtered water to a rolling boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat immediately.
  2. Add 6 tea bags and 0.125 tsp baking soda to the hot water. Submerge fully and steep for exactly 15 minutes without squeezing the bags.
  3. Remove tea bags gently. While the tea is hot, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until completely dissolved.
  4. Pour the tea concentrate into a 2-quart pitcher. Add 5 cups of room-temperature filtered water and stir to combine.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until thoroughly chilled. Serve over ice with optional lemon or mint.
