Ingredients:
- 1 pound (454g) breakfast sausage, uncooked
- 3 cups (360g) Bisquick baking mix
- 4 cups (448g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1/4 cup (30g) chopped green onions or chives (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (optional).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the uncooked breakfast sausage, Bisquick, shredded cheddar cheese, and milk.
- Use your hands to mix all ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. If using, gently fold in the chopped green onions or chives.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. A cookie scoop helps ensure even sizes.
- Arrange the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the sausage balls cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
