Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (40g) rolled oats (not instant)
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: Brown sugar, maple syrup, honey, fresh or dried fruit, nuts, seeds, butter, cream, yogurt

Instructions:

  1. In the saucepan, combine rolled oats, water, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low.
  4. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oatmeal reaches your desired consistency.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Pour the oatmeal into a bowl and add your desired toppings. Enjoy immediately!
