Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces (60 ml) Tequila Blanco (100% agave)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • ¾ ounce (22 ml) Cointreau
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedge (optional)
  • Coarse salt (kosher or sea salt, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass (optional).
  2. Pour a thin layer of salt onto a small plate (optional).
  3. Gently press the rim of the glass into the salt, rotating to coat evenly (optional).
  4. Add tequila, lime juice, and Cointreau to a cocktail shaker.
  5. Fill the shaker with ice.
  6. Secure the lid on the shaker.
  7. Shake for 15-20 seconds, until the shaker is well-chilled.
  8. Strain the margarita into your prepared glass filled with ice.
  9. Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel (optional).
