Ingredients:
- 1 oz (30 ml) White Rum (I like a good quality one like Flor de Caña)
- 1 oz (30 ml) Aged Jamaican Rum (Appleton Estate is a solid choice)
- ¾ oz (22 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ oz (15 ml) Orange Curaçao (Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao is great if you can find it)
- ½ oz (15 ml) Orgeat Syrup (Trader Vic's is readily available, or Monin if you're feeling fancy)
- ¼ oz (7 ml) Simple Syrup (equal parts sugar and water, heated until dissolved, then cooled)
- Garnish: Lime wedge, sprig of mint (optional)
Instructions:
- Fill a rocks glass with ice.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the white rum, aged rum, lime juice, orange curaçao, orgeat syrup, and simple syrup.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake well until chilled (about 15-20 seconds).
- Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint (if desired). Serve immediately.
