Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (120 ml) mayonnaise, full-fat or light
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) garlic powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon (0.625 ml) freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  2. Whisk all ingredients together until completely smooth and evenly combined. There should be no streaks of ketchup or mayo.
  3. Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings as needed. You might want to add more paprika for smokiness, garlic powder for sharpness, or cayenne for heat.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the sauce to an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. This step is not mandatory, but it makes a world of difference.
  5. Serve the fry sauce immediately with your favorite fries, onion rings, or other dippable delights.
