Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (10.75 ounce/305g) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.75 ounce/305g) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup (115g) shredded cheddar cheese, divided (3/4 cup for filling, 1/4 cup for topping)
  • 1 (32 ounce/900g) package frozen tater tots

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet with the browned ground beef. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef and vegetables with cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Stir in 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Pour the filling into the prepared 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange the frozen tater tots evenly over the top of the filling.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese over the tater tots. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and the filling is bubbly. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
