Ingredients:

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls (approx. 450g)
  • 1 pound (450g) thinly sliced ham
  • 1 pound (450g) turkey or chicken breast, cooked
  • 12 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup (240ml) fresh pineapple chunks, optional
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) honey
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) poppy seeds, optional

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating them completely.
  3. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in the baking dish. Layer on half of the ham, a layer of turkey or chicken, followed by Swiss cheese, and optional pineapple. Top with the remaining ham and turkey/chicken.
  4. Place the top halves of the rolls back on.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds. Whisk until smooth.
  6. Using a pastry brush, generously coat the tops of the rolls with the butter mixture.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Cut sliders apart and enjoy warm!
