Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and diced (approx. 300g/10.5 oz)
  • 1 ripe papaya, peeled, seeded, and diced (approx. 300g/10.5 oz)
  • 1 pineapple, peeled, cored, and diced (approx. 300g/10.5 oz)
  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced (approx. 200g/7 oz)
  • 1 lime, juiced (approx. 30 ml/1 fl oz)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 4 oz (115g) good-quality dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) ground chile powder (ancho, chipotle, or cayenne – adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Combine all diced fruits in a large bowl.
  2. Gently toss the fruit with lime juice and a pinch of salt.
  3. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave with cream until smooth. Be careful not to burn the chocolate.
  4. Whisk in chile powder and cinnamon into the melted chocolate.
  5. Divide the fruit salad among serving bowls. Drizzle generously with the chile-chocolate sauce.
