Ingredients:
- 1 loaf Italian bread (about 12 inches long), sliced lengthwise
- ½ cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the garlic butter, followed by the Parmesan cheese (if using).
- Place the bread on the baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is lightly golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve immediately.
